LPG sweetening
Technical data sheet
Europhtal additive 8090 is mercaptan oxidation catalyst used in liquid/liquid reaction in LPG sweetening unit. In this unit sulphur is removed (desulfurization unit).
LPG sweetening unit contents two steps: mercaptan extraction removal step and mercaptan oxidation regenerative step.
LPG (Propane, Butane, …) is washed up with a caustic solution. Then mercaptans (RSH) pass from LPG to caustic solution as mercaptides. It's a mercaptan removal or mercaptan extraction.
Mercaptides in caustic solution are then oxidized to disulfide by injecting oxygen and Europhtal mercaptan oxidization catalyst.
During this step TAN is reduced, mercaptan are oxidized and total sulphur content is reduced. It's a desulfurization unit
8090 formulation allows good stability to low temperature and optimize liquid liquid contact
Application
Europhtal additive 8090 is a liquid catalyst used in liquid-liquid extraction units. This additive is tailor made catalyst to sweet light hydrocarbons (LPG) without side reaction.
Advantages
Europhtal additive 8090 allows to:
- Control catalyst consumption
- Improve caustic consumption by reducing caustic adjustment.
- No side reaction
- Sweet light hydrocarbons (LPG)
- Ready to be used
- Easy handling
Benefits
In addition to a high activity mercaptan treating catalyst, Europhtal offers a monitoring of performances during the run of catalyst in order to improve reaction parameters (Concentration and consumption of caustic recycle, pressure, temperature…)
