Desulfurization of LNG

Desulfurization of LNG

Technical data sheet

Europhtal additive 8080G is liquid desulfurization catalyst used in liquid/liquid reaction in propane butane desulfurization unit.

Natural Gas (Propane, Butane, LNG…) is contacted with a caustic solution. Then mercaptans (RSH) pass from propane or butane to caustic solution as mercaptides. It's a mercaptan removal or mercaptant extraction for desulfurization.

Mercaptides in caustic solution are then oxidized to disulfide using Europhtal desulfurization catalyst. It's mercaptan oxidization and caustic regeneration.

During this step TAN is reduced, mercaptans are oxidized and total sulphur content is reduced. It's desulfurization unit.

Application

Europhtal additive 8080G is tailor made catalyst to sweet natural gas. This catalyst is specific to mercaptan oxidation, without solid formation and provides the highest efficiency for treatment of natural gas.

Advantages

Europhtal additive 8080G allows to:

  • Sweet natural gas
  • Control catalyst consumption
  • Improve caustic consumption by reducing caustic adjustment.
  • No solid formation
  • Ready to be use
  • Easy handling

Benefits

In addition to a high activity mercaptan treating catalyst, Europhtal offers a monitoring of performances during the run of catalyst in order to improve reaction parameters
